SCOTT CITY -- J.W. Wallace, 80, of Scott City, died Sunday, May 15, 1994.
He was born Nov. 23, 1913, at Commerce, son of Jim and Alpha Yarbrough Wallace. He and Violet Valentine Caler were married July 2, 1956, at Jackson.
Wallace was a retired engineer with Cotton Belt Railroad, and had owned and operated a motel in Jonesboro, Ark. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Scott City, and Oddfellows Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carolyn Bartolomucci of Whitesboro, Texas; a brother, Verble Wallace of Lake Jackson, Texas; a sister, Willadene Caperton of Cumby, Texas; three grandsons, and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, brother and sister.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Rosemound Cemetery near Commerce.
Cumby Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas, is in charge of arrangements.
