DEXTER -- J.W. Johnson, 68, of Dexter, died Thursday, June 15, 1995, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 8, 1926, in Arkansas, son of Joseph F. and Effie Corilla Gibson Johnson. He and Bertie Lou Owen were married Oct. 4, 1947, in Piggott, Ark.
Johnson moved to Bloomfield in 1952 and then to Dexter in 1960. He had owned and operated Johnson Refrigeration. He was a member of Masonic Lodge and past worshipful master, member of Three Rivers Shrine Club in Poplar Bluff, and Scottish Rite in St. Louis.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mike Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Jason Johnson of Dexter; two daughters, Rhonda Hall of Dexter, Jeanine Bomar of Jackson; three brothers, E.C. Johnson of Corning, Ark., Charles Johnson of Ida Bell, Okla., James Johnson of Centerville, Ohio; a sister, Ivory Owen of Nimmons, Ark.; 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funral Home in Dexter after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
