PARMA -- Funeral for J.V. Matlock of Parma will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Catron. The Rev. James Swiney will officiate. Burial will be in Mounds Cemetery near Lilbourn.
Watkins and Sons Funeral Home at Parma is in charge of arrangements.
Matlock, 68, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1999, at his home.
He was born May 7, 1931, in Lake County, Tenn., son of Virgil and Dixie Henson Matlock. He and Della Campbell were married Dec. 8, 1956, in Corinth, Miss.
He had lived in the Parma and Catron area since 1941. He was a farmer. Matlock was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church, and member of a Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Danny Matlock of Catron; a daughter, Marcie Snider of Catron; a brother, Roy "Buck" Matlock of Ridgely, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
