June L. Owen, 91, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, in Charlevoix, Michigan, after a prolonged illness.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Lily Huebner of St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by Jim Owen, her husband of 47 years, and her son, Jim Owen.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Jim Plagens of Charlevoix and Vero Beach, Florida; sister-in-law, Carolyn Crismon of Mesa, Arizona; nieces, Sue Nabors of Farmington, Missouri, and Patti MacDoniels of Chesterfield, Missouri; and nephews, Stephen Owen of St. Louis and David Crismon of St. Louis.

In 1961, June and Jim moved their family from St. Louis to Cape Girardeau so Jim could manage Paramount Liquor Co.

June attended Centenary United Methodist Church. She was a member of Cape Girardeau Country Club, Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Elks Club.

June was a classy, fun lady who loved family, friends and dancing. She continued dancing until a few months before her illness.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2018.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Teen Challenge, 303 Matc Lane, P.O. Box 1089, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701, or Hospice of Northwest Michigan, 220 W. Garfield Ave., Charlevoix, MI 49720.
