SIKESTON, Mo. -- Elizabeth June Maxwell, 83, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 2,1919, in Prairie Township, Ill., daughter of Russell and Chloe Ingle Nidey. She and James Robert Maxwell were married Aug. 7, 1954, in Robinson, Ill. He died Sept. 20, 1994.
Formerly of Sikeston, Maxwell had been a cook at Sikeston High School cafeteria. She was a member of North Acres General Baptist Church in Sikeston.
Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Eason of Poplar Bluff, Susan Chaka and Cinda Decker of Austin, Texas; a brother, Randall Nidey of Robinson; a sister, Betty Murray of Evansville, Ind.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel after 11 a.m. Thursday.
The funeral will be at noon Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Luther "Bud" Goins officiating. Burial will be in Chalk Bluff Cemetery at Dexter, Mo.
