CAPE GIRARDEAU -- A memorial service for Julius Voges Vasterling of Tucker, Ga., was held March 12 in Tucker.

Vasterling, 73 years old, died Saturday, March 9, 1991, in a hospital in Georgia.

He was born Oct. 11, 1917, in Fornfelt (Scott City), son of Julius and Ida Voges Vasterling. He and the former Hallie Lillian McClearen were married in 1946.

Vasterling was reared in Cape Girardeau, attended Southeast Missouri State University, and was graduated from the University of Missouri.

He worked 30 years at General Motors in Buffalo, N.Y., and St. Louis as CPA and plant auditor.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Peggy of Georgia; a brother, Walter Vasterling of California, and two grandchildren, Amy and Patrick.
