Julius G. Thiele, 88, of 2525 Bloomfield Road died Sunday, April 5, 1992, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 26, 1903, at Egypt Mills, the son of Martin and Caroline Margraf Thiele. In 1923, he married Mildred Fornkohl, who preceded him in death in January 1975.
He farmed in Egypt Mills and also worked for Pure Ice Co. and the Frisco Railroad for 10 years. He was a member of the Egypt Mills Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son, Don E. Thiele of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Fred and Edward Thiele, both of Egypt Mills and Theodore Thiele of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel, where funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Helmuth Sylvester will officiate, and burial will be at Hanover Lutheran Church Cemetery.
