Julia Andrews Tillis, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Sept. 3, 1903, at Yazoo City, Miss., daughter of Willie and Josephine Andrews. She was married to Curtis Tillis, who preceded her in death.

She owned and operated three cafes, Smith's Cafe, Pink Service Station and Johnson Street Cafe, all in Greenwood, Miss. She was also employed in Housekeeping on Fast Train out of Chicago.

She was a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in St. Louis. She was also a member of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, John Henry Patterson of Harvey, Ill.; a daughter, Jessie Mae Smith of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Willie Andrews of East St. Louis, Ill.; a sister, Viola Prigette of Mississippi; seven grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, three daughters, a grandson and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at Fairmont Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
