JULIA PITTMAN

OLMSTED, Ill. -- Julia Pittman, 85, of Olmsted, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1992, at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.

She was born March 23, 1907, in Unity, daughter of Elisha and Jane Pennell Bowles. She married Noble Pittman Sr., who died in 1982.

Survivors include five daughters, Jane Merchant of Makanda, Ila Ulrich of Grand Chain, Geraldine Battle of Marlboro, Vt., Joyce Taylor of Ormond Beach, Fla., Jo Vaughn of Sacramento, Calif.; four sons, Robert and Noble Pittman Jr. of Olmsted, William Pittman of Hixon, Tenn., James Pittman of Lansing, Kan.; a brother, Dudley Bowles of Wyatt, Mo.; 35 grandchildren, and 51 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, six brothers and a sister.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. The Rev. James Calhoun will officiate, with burial in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8:30 p.m. today.
