DEXTER -- Julia Ivester, 98, of Bernie died Sunday, June 29, 1997, at her daughter's home in Clewiston, Fla.
She was born Sept. 17, 1898, in Stoddard County, the daughter of Charles and Mary Ann McClard Temples. On April 11, 1915, she married Zelmar Ivester. He died June 13, 1970.
She was a homemaker.
She belonged to the Church of Christ.
Survivors are two sons, Harry Ivester of Cape Girardeau and Keith Ivester of Scott City; a daughter, Anita Jo Rainey of Clewiston; a brother, Ed Temples of Dexter; five sisters, Gladys Spores of St. Louis, Evelyn Hunt, Charlene Middleton and Naioma Miller, all of Dexter, and Addie Thieke of Kokomo, Ind.; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by five sons, three brothers, a sister and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe Masters officiating. Burial will be in the Armstead Dowdy Cemetery in Dexter.
