MOUNDS, Ill. -- Judy A. (Davis) Buckles, age 69, of Mounds, formerly of Mound City, Illinois, passed away at 2:12 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 26, 1948, in Cairo, Illinois, daughter of the late James D. Davis and Sarah (Koen) Davis.
Judy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City; was former member of the Mound City Women's Club; was a former alderman for City of Mound City; was a founder of the PIC Club; and was a family advocate for victims of mesothelioma. She was a retired case worker for the Division of Family Services in East Prairie, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Charles Lewis Buckles.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathie (Terry) Ross and Kim (John) Tucker, both of Mounds; a sister, Sharon (Ray) Miller of O'Fallon, Illinois; and grandchildren Brent Dover, Brandon Ross, Hunter Tucker, and Tristan Tucker.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Jones Funeral Home Villa Ridge. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Sharp officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Mounds.
