PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Judith Ann Zahner, 77, of Perryville died Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, at Independence Care Center.
She was born Nov. 9, 1942, in Granite City, Illinois, to Charles Elmo and Nadine Dorotha Counts Thompson. She and Alfred G. Zahner were married Nov. 25, 1976, at Buena Park, California.
She loved to cook.
She was a lifetime member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 3838 and DAV Auxiliary Chapter 16.
She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, where she was a Stephen Minister and choir member.
Survivors include a daughter, Anita Kay (Scott J.) Gibbar of Perryville; two grandchildren, Corey (Brittany) Moll and Jenna Moll; stepgrandchildren, Michael Moraz and Denise Lewis; great-grandchild, Adley Moll; and great-stepgrandchildren, Eliza Moraz, Hailey Moraz, Jayden Moraz and Mason Moraz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Oscar Joe Nichols Jr.; stepdaughter, Denise Carol Moraz; and brothers, Gerald R. Thompson and Charles Anthony Thompson.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. John Dehne officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Andrew Lutheran Church or Saxony Lutheran High School.
