CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Judith Ann Birk, 80, of Charleston passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, while surrounded by her loving family in Cape Girardeau. She was born Nov. 14, 1941, in Sikeston, Missouri, to the late Lyman and Monteen McCann Dame. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She retired as a bookkeeper at John Deere in Sikeston. She had also been a real estate agent with Bollinger Real Estate and had previously worked as a teacher's aide at Kelly Elementary School...

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Judith Ann Birk, 80, of Charleston passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, while surrounded by her loving family in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 14, 1941, in Sikeston, Missouri, to the late Lyman and Monteen McCann Dame.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She retired as a bookkeeper at John Deere in Sikeston. She had also been a real estate agent with Bollinger Real Estate and had previously worked as a teacher's aide at Kelly Elementary School.

Judith is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roy Otto Birk, whom she married on April 7, 1963, at Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston.

Other survivors include one daughter and two sons, Jennifer Birk-Cook (Stan Cook) of Perryville, Missouri, Gregory (Jennifer) Birk of Charleston and Daryl (April) Birk of Jackson. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Rachel (Clay) Schmidli, Caleb (Kristi) Birk, Aaron (Linsey) Birk, Lydia Cook, Olivia Cook, Jonah Cook, Adam Birk, Lauren Birk, Megan Birk and Jacob Birk. She is also survived by her brother and sister, Lyman L (Debora) Dame Jr. and Debbie (David) Yarbrough.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery in Charleston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid or American Cancer Society.
