Funeral for Juanita G. Snider of Cape Girardeau will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. Pastor Paul Short will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the chapel Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service. An Eastern Star service will be held at 12:30 p.m.
Snider, 95, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at her home.
She was born Aug. 6, 1906, at Bloomfield, Mo., daughter of Rollo and Nora Smith. She married Felix E. Snider May 25, 1932, at Dexter, Mo. He died March 13, 1973.
Snider was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She was a teacher three years at Dexter Public Schools, four years at Jackson Public Schools, and 18 years at Cape Girardeau Public Schools.
She was a member and life trustee of First Christian Church. She was a member and past worthy matron of Cape Rock Chapter of Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem, member and past president of Wednesday Club, Executives Club, Historical Association of Greater Cape Girardeau, and Faculty Dames. She was named Volunteer of the Year for 2000 at St. Francis Medical Center.
Survivors include a son, Robert Snider of St. Cloud, Fla.; a daughter, Felicia Fox of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Dora Kearney of Brownsville, Texas, Mae Lynch of Dexter; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a brother, and two sisters.
