MOREHOUSE -- Juanita M. Payne, 74, of Morehouse died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at her home.
She was born Oct. 28, 1923, at Dexter, daughter of Paul and Dora Allen McDaniel DeArman. She and Chester Howard Payne were married Aug. 17, 1946, in Arkansas. He died June 15, 1992.
The Paynes owned and operated Payne's Grocery Store 30 years.
Survivors include two sons, Allen Payne of Morehouse, Jimmie Lemmons of Florida; a daughter, Jane McCullough of Deer, Ark.; a sister, Margaret Hewitt of Morehouse; a half brother, Gene Gaines of Sikeston; three half sisters, Maxine Dalton, Ruth Johnson and Virginia Ogden, all of Sikeston; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a half brother.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Mike Cartwright officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
