DEXTER -- Funeral service for Juanita Curtis of Dexter will be held at 1 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Wayne Dismuke will officiate, with burial in North Antioch Cemetery near Bloomfield.
Curtis, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1993, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 9, 1915, in Stoddard County, daughter of Claude C. and Minnie Scism Smith. She and Vernon E. Curtis were married in June 1937. He died Oct. 30, 1983.
Curtis was a retired caseworker with Division of Family Services. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dexter, and Retired Teachers Association of Missouri.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel Curtis of Bloomfield, Samuel Curtis of Johnson City, Ill.; two daughters, Mary Ann Bennett of St. Louis, Patsie Garner of Dexter; a brother, Kline Smith of Marble Hill; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
