Joyce Marie Seyer, 71, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau. She was born Sept. 19, 1950, daughter of Herman and Lena Compas Bucher. Joyce and Thomas Seyer were united in marriage on June 17, 1978. Joyce enjoyed reading and cross stitching, and was a librarian for 38 years. Joyce Marie Seyer, 71, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 19, 1950, daughter of Herman and Lena Compas Bucher. Joyce and Thomas Seyer were united in marriage on June 17, 1978.

Joyce enjoyed reading and cross stitching, and was a librarian for 38 years. She loved being with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include her husband of the home; son, Caleb (Kelly) Seyer of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Alicia Seyer of Cape Girardeau; sister, Maryann (Joe) Garvey of Jackson; brothers, Wilfred (Alyce), Frank (Margie) and Denis (Sharon) Bucher; three grandchildren, Joshua See, Brady Seyer and Caitlin See; and sister-in-law, Pam Bucher.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James and Ralph Bucher.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson with parish prayers and rosary starting at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated to the Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund.
