Joyce Rumfelt

Virginia Joyce Rumfelt, 81, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born Aug. 4, 1924, in Detroit, Mich., daughter of Fred and Ida Nicholson Barbee. She and Ralph Rumfelt were married April 8, 1966, in Wayne County, Mich.

Mrs. Rumfelt worked as a bank teller while living in Michigan. She and her husband moved to Jackson in 1973. She was of the Baptist belief.

Loving survivors include her husband; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Terry Chuhran of Green Oak, Mich., Ralph Robert Rumfelt and wife Shannon of Jackson; three grandchildren, Trevor Dylan Rumfelt, Scott Chuhran and Stacey Kimble; two great-grandchildren, Amanda and Katelyn Kimble.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Linda Chuhran.

Friends may call today after 8:30 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond McAfee officiating. Interment will follow in High Hill Cemetery near Neelys Landing.
