Joyce Marie Holloway, 89 of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 4, 2022, at her son's home in Jackson.

She was born Aug. 17, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Reginald and Ersie Nichols. She and Eugene Holloway were married Feb. 24, 1951, in Cape Girardeau.

She was a 1950 graduate of Central High School.

She was deeply loved by her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a devoted and loving stay-at-home mom, raising five children, until she and Eugene opened Eugene Holloway Floor Covering in 1976. She worked at Holloway Floor Covering (now Carpet One) until her retirement.

She was a faithful follower of Christ from a young age. She was a founding and longtime member of Lynwood Baptist Church. Over the many years, she was active with vacation Bible school, youth, senior adults and teaching her Life Group Class.

She helped us all create lots of memories over the years and she reminded us all the time that no matter how good or bad it was, we were building memories. She will always be remembered for summer camps with grandkids, apple pies, Swedish tea ring, awesome family dinners, always singing a gospel song around the house, playing the piano, her deep devotion to her husband and family and, above all, her love of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
