Joyce Ann Clifton, 84, of Jackson passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016, at her home.

She was born in Hobbs Chapel Community on Dec. 2, 1931, the daughter of Rufus and Cora Slinkard Lindsay. She and her devoted husband of 65 years, Robert L. (Red) Clifton, were married Nov. 4, 1950, at Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Robert, and four children, Penny (Bernard) Meyer of Perryville, Missouri, Joana (Rick) Hoffman of San Antonio, Florida, Julie (Mike) Smith of Russellville, Missouri, and Joe (Lisa) Clifton of Cary, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, Laura Ernst, Bernie Meyer, Tera Bloecher, Cody Hoffman, Casey Hoffman, Travis Smith, Brandon Smith, James Clifton, Lacie Clifton, and Jacob Clifton; her sister, Judy (Willis) Smith of Milan, Illinois, and brother, Kenny (Roxie) Lindsay of Cape Girardeau; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; brother Bill Lindsay; and great-granddaughter, Layton Marie Smith.

Joyce was a member of New New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.

She worked at Lenco Inc. in Jackson for 21 years.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the National Parkinson Foundation, P.O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
