Joyce Brown

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Joyce Ann Brown, 71, of Chaffee died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born June 20, 1936, at New Hamburg, Mo., daughter of Leo and Agnes Simpher Goetz. She and Robert Michael Welter were married July 28, 1956. He died Dec. 19, 1986. She and Bob Brown were married May 14, 1995.

Brown retired as a machine operator from Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and Daughters of St. Ambrose.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Darrell Robert (Sherry) Welter of Scott City; a sister, Ruth "Boots" (Norman) Glaus of Cape Girardeau; and a grandson, Winston Robert Welter of Scott City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The rosary will be recited at 6:30.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in St. Ambrose Cemetery.
