Joy Venable, 72, of Scott City died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 19, 1940, at Sikeston, Mo., the daughter of Bryan Glenn and Jacqulain Marie Stephens Jolly. She married Earl Wayne Venable on Feb. 22, 1956. He preceded her in death April 30, 1985.
Joy worked for Drury Hotels as a reservation clerk. She was a member of Illmo Baptist Church in Scott City.
Survivors include a son, Bryan (Kim) Venable of Commerce, Mo.; and two daughters, Terri (Brad) Hahn of Benton, Mo., and Stephni Venable of Creve Coeur, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Glenn Stine.
There will be a time of celebration and sharing from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Vernon McClearn officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
