Joy E. Grace, 89, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at Ratliff Care Center. She was born Nov. 24, 1929, in St. Louis to the late Jasper Ray and Mary Johnson Swan. Joy and Murray L. Grace were married Feb. 14, 1953, at Maple United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Aug. 13, 1979...

Joy E. Grace, 89, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born Nov. 24, 1929, in St. Louis to the late Jasper Ray and Mary Johnson Swan. Joy and Murray L. Grace were married Feb. 14, 1953, at Maple United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Aug. 13, 1979.

She was a member of Maple United Methodist Church. She loved being a part of the Loyal Aiders Sunday school class and Day Circle group at the church. She also volunteered numerous hours at Southeast Hospital. She was a homemaker and also worked in factories and food service for many years.

Survivors include her two daughters, Vicki (Steve) Ramey of Cape Girardeau and Beth (Jeff) Leible of Brazeau, Missouri; a son, Murray Michael Grace Sr. of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Billy Swan of Nashville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris) Bledsoe of Cape Girardeau, Deanna Leible of Jackson, Danielle (Glenn) Pecher of Ballwin, Missouri, and Murray Michael "Mick" (Caitlynn) Grace Jr. of Imperial, Missouri; and four great-grandchildren, Clara Bledsoe of Cape Girardeau, Briar and Brennan Grace of Imperial and Lincoln Pecher of Ballwin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters, Ruth Doll, Shirley Reutzel and Judy Swan.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Estes officiating. Burial will be at New Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Maple United Methodist Church.
