Josie Smith, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, July 10, 1998, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
She was born July 3, 1903, at Bloomfield, daughter of Andrew and Hattie Grayum Turner. She and Glenn O. Smith were married Dec. 26, 1922, at Benton. He died Sept. 24, 1964.
Smith had worked at International Shoe Co., owned and operated Fairview Rest Home, and had also cared for people in their homes.
She was a member of Maple United Methodist Church, White Shrine, and Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 3838.
Survivors include a son, Glenn Smith Jr. of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Wilda Sprenger of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Gene Turner of Cape Girardeau, Alvin Turner of state of California; a sister, Lula Pace of Chicago; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel, with the Rev. John Gregory officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the chapel Sunday from 11 a.m. until service time.
