JOSIE R. WITZEL

JACKSON -- Funeral service for Josie R. Witzel of Jackson was held Saturday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Don Witzel, a grandson, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Otto Steinhaus. Burial was in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Witzel, 76, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1993, at her home.

She was born Dec. 5, 1916, at Jackson, daughter of John and Bernice Oldham Schreiner. She and Gus Witzel were married Jan. 13, 1932, at Benton. He died Sept. 3, 1991.

Witzel was a service operator at International Shoe Co. in Jackson, retiring in 1979. She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Don Witzel of Kosciusko, Miss., William Witzel of Sikeston; a brother, William Schreiner of Jackson; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
