Joshua Paul Thomas, 22, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born Aug. 25, 1997 in Cape Girardeau to Blake and Heather Ham Thomas.
Joshua was a 2016 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. He was a member of LaCroix United Methodist Church.
Joshua was a loving brother to his siblings and devoted son to his parents. He was a loyal friend to all he met.
Things he loved, he excelled at. He loved music and was a talented musician, playing multiple instruments during his life. He was passionate about the outdoors and was an excellent hunter and fisherman. He was an idealist and an individual and packed a lot of life into 22 years. This world broke his heart, and now his friends and family are broken-hearted as well.
Loving survivors include his parents of Cape Girardeau; sister, Hannah Faith Thomas; brother, Wyatt Christopher Thomas; maternal grandparents, Faith (John) Flynn of Jackson and John Paul (Lisa) Ham of Scott City; paternal grandparents, Chris and Carolyn Thomas of Cape Girardeau; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brett Cheek officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time. Private burial will be held at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to LaCroix United Methodist Church.
Face masks are required to attend services.
