JOSEPHINE KIRN

PERRYVILLE -- Josephine Kirn, 97, of Perryville died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 26, 1900, at Apple Creek, daughter of Frank and Maria Blechle Gebhardt. She and George S. Kirn were married Oct. 15, 1929. He died July 26, 1983.

Kirn had worked in the laundry department at Perry County Hospital. She was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church and its Ladies Sodality.

Survivors include three daughters, Viola Pierce and Alice Boxdorfer of Perryville, Virginia Lappe of St. Louis; three sons, Melvin, Sylvester and Joseph Kirn, all of Perryville; 20 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers, two sisters, a grandson, and a great-grandson.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:30-9:50 a.m. The Ladies Sodality wake service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Richard Lause officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.
