PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Joseph Webb, 81, of Perryville died Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at his home.
He was born Jan. 5, 1939, in St. Louis to Frank and Mary Belle Green Webb. He and Shirley Marie Sutterer were married Sept. 4, 1965. She survives in Perryville.
Joseph was a school teacher and public defender before going into private practice. He dedicated his legal career to serving the injured and disabled and was a founding partner of The Webb Law Firm, where he worked until his retirement in 2014. He was a member of American Legion Post 133, Missouri Bar Association, Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and Air Force.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarah (Doug) Elfrink of Cape Girardeau; son, John (Jessica Dobin) Webb of St. Louis; siblings, Eugene (Carol) Webb of Highland, Illinois, John David (Barbara) Webb of St. Louis, Carol (Kenneth) Jewell of Koshkonong, Missouri, Jack (Debbie) Webb of St. Louis and Jill (John) Clubbs of Doniphan, Missouri; and granddaughter, Jourdan (Dakota) Broeker. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Janet Bowers and Joy and Tom Comeau.
Committal service for Joseph Webb will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 15 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville, with Deacon Joe Brindley officiating. Military graveside honors will be provided by American Legion Post 133 and U.S. Air Force Team of Scott Air Force Base. A celebration of life will follow at Joseph and Shirley Webb's home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul or New Life Mission Inn.
