DEXTER -- Joseph T. Sting, 85, of Dexter died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 8, 1913, at Chamois, son William B. and Florence L. Ferguson Sting.
He lived in Dexter most of his life, with the exception of six years spent in New London. He was a retired farmer and was retired from the Scott-Mississippi Rural Electric Cooperative.
He married Gladys Casey on Aug. 28, 1937, at Dexter.
Survivors include his wife of Dexter; two sons, Joe T. Sting Jr. of Springfield, Va., and Ronald D. Sting of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Carolyn M. Lohse of Columbia and Tonda S. Rowland of Dexter; four grandsons; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
The Rev. Marion Gipson of Dexter will officiate, with burial to follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
