Funeral service for Joseph Mason Sachse, 232 Cadmium Lane, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Don Stephens will officiate, with burial in Old Appleton United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Sachse, 53, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at his home.

He was born May 24, 1944, at Old Appleton, son of Dale and Sally Buchheit Sachse. He and Janetta Mae Ervin were married April 19, 1966. She died April 6, 1997.

He grew up in Cape Girardeau and graduated from Central High School. He was a construction laborer and lifetime member of Local 282 of the Laborers Union. He worked on construction at the Show Me Center, Southeast Missouri Hospital, Lonestar Cement and Noranda Aluminum.

Survivors include a son, Troi N. "Nick" Sachse of Elizabethtown, Ky.; a daughter, Jinger Sachse of Cape Girardeau; his mother of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Paul Sachse of Murray, Ky., Bob Sachse of Jackson, Mike Sachse of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Jinny Schenimann of Cape Girardeau, Sue Fulton of Jackson; a friend, Judy Douglas of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.
