MARBLE HILL -- Joseph J. Rhodes, 75, of Marble Hill died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 21, 1924, near Glen Allen, son of Joseph L. and Hattie V. Johnson Rhodes. He and Dorotha I. Diesel were married July 21, 1949.
Rhodes was a construction worker with Carpenters Local 1795 in St. Louis, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Gravelton.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary Rhodes of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Ethel McKinley of San Antonio, Texas; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. today and Wednesday after 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Rick Pettey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
