Joseph "Jay" Myers, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at the Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born Nov. 26, 1928, at Pontiac, Mich., son of William Francis and Jessie Irwin Myers. He and Helen McGraw were married July 15, 1955. She died Jan. 22, 1979.
Myers was a retired maintainance worker from W & S Investments in St. Louis. He had served in the Air Force, attaining the rank of staff sergeant.
Survivors include a niece, Pamela Gibbons of Pasadena, Texas.
He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo., at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Watis Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery in Perkins, Mo.
