JACKSON, Mo. -- Joseph H. Knowlton, 71, of Jackson died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 13, 1928, at Chaffee, son of George I. and Eva Mae Thompson Knowlton. He and Wilma F. Green were married May 16, 1987.

Knowlton retired as a truck driver with Ceramo Co. He was a member of Chaffee Assembly of God Church and Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158 in Jackson.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Christopher Knowlton of Jackson; a foster son, James Penny of Jackson; three stepdaughters, Donna Eakins, Larraine Walters and Patty McCormick of Jackson; a sister, Pansy Miller of Hemet, Calif.; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Delbert Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
