Joseph W. "Joey" Kilhafner, 33, of Jackson passed away in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He was born Aug. 31, 1979, in St. Petersburg, Fla., to William M. "Mike" and Michele A. Seely Kilhafner.

Joey attended Immaculate Conception Grade School and was a 1997 graduate of Jackson High School. His first job was at the former Old Mill Store in Burfordville, and he worked several years at Walmart in Jackson. He received a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Southeast Missouri State University in 2005.

He enjoyed helping his family and friends with issues pertaining to their computers and electronic devices, and he was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Survivors include his parents, Mike and Michele Kilhafner of Marble Hill, Mo.; eight siblings, Kristy Friedrich of Cape Girardeau, Laurie Ford of Marble Hill, Steve Kilhafner of Mount Pleasant, Mich., Tim Kilhafner of Cape Girardeau, Mark Kilhafner of Burfordville, Mary (Trevor) Milam of Kelso, Mo., David Kilhafner and Amy Kilhafner of Cape Girardeau; 13 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

The funeral was held Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, with the Rev. Patrick Nwokoye officiating. Burial was in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
