CHARLESTON -- Joseph Ketterer, 72, of Charleston died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Charleston, the son of Theodore and Mamie Gutzwiller Ketterer. On April 18, 1949, he married Marie Glenn, who preceded him in death Aug. 13, 1973.

He was a resident of Charleston his entire life, where he was employed with the U.S. Postal Service.

He was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church in Charleston and the Knights of Columbus. He also was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Survivors include three sons, Raymond Ketterer of Coral Springs Fla., Albert Ketterer of Milton, Fla. and Mark Ketterer of rural Bertrand; three daughters, Mary Helen Ketterer of Miami, Fla., Molly Wyatt of Germantown, Md. and Donna Ketterer of the home; a brother, Henry Ketterer of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Sister Beatrice Marie Ketterer of St. Louis; and 12 grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where a prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Henry's Catholic Church. Father James Reynolds will officiate, and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery near Charleston.
