JOSEPH H. STEINNERD

LEOPOLD -- Joseph H. Steinnerd, 92, of Leopold, died at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson Thursday, June 17, 1993.

He was born at Leopold Aug. 25, 1900, son of John and Adelheid Brauer Steinnerd.

One June 4, 1924, he married Cathryn Landewee, who died March 12, 1990.

He was a member of St. John's Catholic Parish of Leopold. He was a third-degree knight of St. Isidore, Council 5898 of Leopold.

Survivors are a son, Melvin Steinnerd, Jackson; daughters, Mary Jansen, Geraldine Elfrink and Irma Stause, all of Leopold, and Eloise Nenninger, Overland; 31 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Two sons, four brothers, five sisters, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also preceded him in death.

Friends may call today after 3 p.m. at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Parish prayers will be said at the funeral home at 7 tonight and the Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church by the Revs. Michael Casteel, Mike Lee, Leo Hotze and Clem Hotze. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
