CAIRO, Ill. -- Funeral Mass for Joseph F. Conroy Jr. of Palm Bay, Fla., was held Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palm Bay.
Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home in Palm Bay was in charge of arrangements.
Conroy, 74, died Friday, May 24, 1996, at Atlantic Shores Nursing Home in Melbourne, Fla.
He was born Aug. 24, 1921, in Cairo, son of Joseph and Edna Conroy. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Cairo.
Conroy married the former Bernadine Stricker of Charleston, Mo.
He was an instrument engineer 35 years with Union Carbide. Conroy was a member of Elks, VFW, 4th Degree and past grand knight with Knights of Columbus 1027, all in Cairo.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Matthew Conroy of Palm Bay; a daughter, Deborah Fleming of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a sister, Patricia Roushdi of Palm Bay, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
