VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Joseph C. Barnett, 81, of Cache, Ill., formerly of Mounds, died Wednesday, June 1, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born at Villa Ridge, Ill., on Aug. 15, 1912, son of Berry Royal Barnett and Della Mae Callis Lawler.
He attended the United Methodist Church in Olive Branch and was a district manager for 29 years with the Commonwealth Insurance Co. in Cairo.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Morgan Barnett of Cache; one son, Bennie Adams of Vienna, Ill.; two daughters, Vicki Lynn Toler of Barlow, Ky., and Bobbie McCommons of Dongola, Ill.; two brothers, Michael Lawler of Mounds, and Lynn Lawler of Escatawpa, Miss.; two sisters, Virginia Parmly of Granite City, and Blanche Elbe of Kansas City, Mo.; one granddaughter and five step-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, with the Rev. Jesse Bellamy officiating. Burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
