JACKSON, Mo. -- Jose Roman Perez, 53, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson on Saturday, March 3, beginning at 10 a.m.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. The Revs. Ron Watts and Richard Combs will officiate.
Mr. Perez was born Feb. 28, 1947, in Edinburg, Texas, son of Jose Cruz and San Juana Corona Perez. He and June A. Reid were married Nov. 7, 1970. She survives.
Other loving survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Joseph Scott and Carinsa Perez of Jackson, John Raymond and Carrie Perez of O'Fallon, Mo., Jason Andrew Perez of Jackson; a brother, Matt Perez of Alabama; five sisters, Terri Giardina of St. Louis, Connie Miller of Marshfield, Mo., Marie Cockrell and Maria Medlin of Dexter, Mo., Sara Garcia of Edinburg; and a granddaughter, Salena Perez of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frank Perez.
Mr. Perez was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church at Fruitland, Mo.
He had 30 years of dedicated service to General Electric Medical Systems. He served as an adult leader of Boy Scout Troop 311 and was currently active in the University Extension Programs. He was a member of Cape Girardeau Road Runners Club.
Mr. Perez served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 through 1970.
