ZALMA -- Johnny S. Thurston, 62, of Zalma, died Thursday, July 25, 1996, in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Dec. 17, 1933, in Burbank, Mo., son of Sylvester and Eunice Mullins Thurston.
Thurston was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Zalma General Baptist Church, and VFW at Wappapello. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include five sisters, Fern Haddock and Bettie Miler of Lowndes, Hearthel Miler of Poplar Bluff, Joyce Miler of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, and Carolyn Shirrell of Zalma.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Earl Elfrink officiating. Burial will be in Berrong Cemetery.
