EAST PRAIRIE -- Johnny Ray Moreland of Bertrand, formerly of East Prairie, died Friday, Aug. 30, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Moreland, 35, was born at Dorena, Mo., son of Shelton and Wanda Shaffer Moreland.

He was employed by the John Ford Construction Company of Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include seven brothers, Robert Moreland, address unknown, Ralph Moreland, Davenport, Fla., Jimmy Moreland, St. Louis, Ronnie Moreland, Anniston, Stevie Moreland, Terry Moreland and Carl Moreland, all of Sikeston; five sisters, Lillie Hutson of Charleston, Pat Williams of Wickliffe, Ky., Brenda Gross of Bertrand, Delores Moreland of Sikeston, and Joyce Worley, Sikeston.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the Shelby Chapel, with the Rev. Martin Lucas, associate pastor of First Christian Church of East Prairie, officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
