Johnny G. May, 62, of Rockford, Ill., died Friday, June 19, 1998, at his home.
He was born Aug. 10, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, son of J.C. and Cleo Dabbs May. He has lived at Rockford since 1963.
He married Monett A. Roberts on Nov. 4, 1954, in Cape Girardeau. He was a professional spray painter for Pacific Scientific of Rockford, retiring last August.
He served in the National Guard.
Survivors are his wife of Rockford; four daughters, Debra Miller and Connie Duncan, both of Rockford, Kathy Hatcher of Belivdere, Ill., and Theresa Rollins of Killeen, Texas; a son, Gerald May of Rockford; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at the Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
