Funeral mass for Johnny Lee Stone, 1726 Stoddard Court, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church. The Revs. Milton Ryan and Al Hoernig will officiate, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Headquarters and Headquarters Company 1140th Engineer Battalion of Missouri National Guard.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 3-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, and Knights of Columbus Council 1111 rosary at 7:30.
Stone, 57, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1995, at his home.
He was born Sept. 24, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, son of Willis Clayton and Norma Humes Stone. He and Margaret Dyer were married June 21, 1958, in Scott City.
Stone was a business representative with International Brotherhood of Electrical workers Local 702 in West Frankfort, Ill., for eight years. He also was a lineman with Union Electric 26 years. He was a member of the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Timothy Stone of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Gwen Stone of Cape Girardeau; a brother, James Stone of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Dorothy Essner of Kelso, Margaret Klein of New Madrid, Shirley Brown of Scott City, Rosemary Mercer of Tucson, Ariz., and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
