Johnny Lee Smith, 61, 415 William, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 1994, at Heartland Care Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Aug. 3, 1933, in Baton Rouge, La., son of Tom and Cindy Smith. He and Geraldine DeBerry were married Aug. 25, 1994, in Cape Girardeau.
Smith was a truck driver with the city of Cape Girardeau Sanitation Department, retiring in 1991.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Ronnie Jones of St. Louis, Johnny Smith Jr. and Tyrone DeBerry of Cape Girardeau, Hubert and Brian Smith of Wichita, Kan.; six daughters, Linda Smith of Memphis, Tenn., Beth, Teresa and Lisa Smith of Wichita, Jennifer DeBerry of Cape Girardeau; three stepsons, John and Tommy DeBerry of Cape Girardeau, James DeBerry of Decatur, Ill.; a sister, Nora Smith, and many grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel after 10 a.m. Thursday.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. William Bird officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
