SCOTT CITY -- John Zeno Glastetter, 87, of Scott City died Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at his home.

He was born Sept. 3, 1929. in Kelso, Missouri, the son of Paul Joseph and Anna Helen Scherer Glastetter. He married Dorothy Elizabeth Vandeven on Jan. 17, 1953.

John was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved putting puzzles together, framing them and sharing them with family and friends.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Drury Company and then did service work for local funeral homes.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Glastetter; two sons, Sam (Tina) Glastetter of Scott City and Jim (Laurie) Glastetter of Benton, Missouri; two daughters, Diane Glastetter of Salem, Missouri, and Mary (Donald) Baker of Scott City; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Lindsey, Elizabeth, Jamie, Sammie, Dawn and Brandon; two great-grandchildren, Justin and Jeremy; and three sisters, Coletta Neff of Waterloo, Illinois, Helen Vandeven of Leopold, Missouri, and Bertha Seyer of Dutchtown.

He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter, Michael and Carol Glastetter; three brothers, William, Louis and Sylvester Glastetter; and three sisters, Delphine Backfisch, Aurelia Muster and Rita Kluesner.

Visitation will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral home in Scott City.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Joe Weidenbenner at 10 a.m. today at St. Augustine Church. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
