ALTO PASS, Ill. -- John Franklin Widdows, 97, of Alto Pass died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at his home.
He was born Oct. 22, 1903, at Bloomfield, Mo., son of Joseph F. and Edna Leslie Widdows. He and Zelda Thomas were married Feb. 27, 1926, in Wheaton, Ill. She died May 28, 1998.
Widdows was a retired farmer. He was a member of Cobden Masonic Lodge 466 AF&AM.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Beeson of Casey, Ill.; two sons, Darrell "Tom" and John Widdows of Alto Pass; a sister, Irene Quick of Carterville, Ill.; a brother, Joe Widdows of Carbondale, Ill.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Alto Pass from 6-8 p.m. Saturday. Cobden Masonic Lodge will have a service at 7:30.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gilbert Gee officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.
