MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- John Lynn Whitener, 77, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Woodland Hills Nursing Home.

He was born July 16, 1941, son of Wendell "Jack" and Wilma Justine Whitener. He and Lois Maxine Tripp were united in marriage Dec. 25, 1967, and she passed away Dec. 4, 2014.

John, along with his wife, owned and operated J.W. Chevrolet for 38 years. He was a lifelong member of Marquand First Baptist Church.

He is survived by a brother-in-law, Terry Conrad of Patton, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Linda Reagan of Marble Hill and Patsy Ivy of Appleton, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Lou Conrad.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Patton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for Patton Cemetery Fund.
