John D. Weimer, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born Nov. 6, 1939, in Cape Girardeau, to John and Dorothy Scott Weimer. He and Doris Mantz were married Aug. 17, 1963, in Bollinger County.
John had proud memories of four years in naval service.
He was a highly renowned mechanic many years. He was of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Weimer of Cape Girardeau; a son, Geoff and LeAnne Weimer of Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho; a daughter, Cheryl and Mike McIntyre of Cape Girardeau; sister, Bettie Kilhafner of Oran, Mo.; stepsister, Wanda Gruenberg of St. Louis; four grandsons, Kenny and Amanda Thiele of Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., Geordan, Eli, and Gabriel Weimer of Mountain Home; a great-granddaughter, Ellie Thiele of Eglin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepbrother, Paul Kirchoff; and a sister, Jeanie Weimer.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
