John William Webb, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 23, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 2, 1923, in Jackson, son of Charles and Grace Howard Webb. He and Mary Marie Van Matre were married Jan. 18, 1946, in Jackson.
Webb served in the Army during World War ll.
He was a truck driver for Elfrink Truck Lines, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Red Star Baptist Church, VFW Post 3838, and Teamsters Union in Cape Girardeau.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Donna Sue Reynolds of Cape Girardeau; two granddaughters, Tara L. Robertson-Cooper and Kathlyn M. Reynolds of Cape Girardeau; two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Hunter Cooper of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by parents, two brothers and six sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery, with full military rites by VFW Post 3838 and Missouri Honor Team.
