JOHN WATKINS

DEXTER -- Funeral service for John Kevin Watkins of San Jose, Calif., will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter. The Rev. Wayne Dismuke and Mike Watkins will officiate. Burial will be Wednesday in Dexter Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.

Watkins, 29, died Friday, Feb. 2, 1996, at Santa Teresa Medical Center in San Jose.

He was born March 22, 1966, in Poplar Bluff, son of Marsh and Beckie Watkins.

Watkins attended Murray State University and was a graduate of the Arkansas Enterprises for the Blind in Little Rock.

He had lived in San Jose eight years, where he was a computer programmer/analyst with the Internal Revenue Service. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dexter.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Marsh and Dixie Watkins of Dexter; his mother, Beckie Alexander of Dexter; five brothers, Mike and Rob Watkins, Joey and Brian Dodd, all of Dexter, Rick Watkins of St. Charles, and a sister, Kim Morgan of Dexter.
